Background Analyst

The Background Analyst role is a combination of data entry, order processing and fulfillment and Customer service tasks. Incumbent is responsible for processing various employment background screening services and activities including, drug testing, criminal and consumer reports. Activities will be conducted via computer, phone and fax and include various Customer service functions.

 

Qualifications / Skills Required

  • Ability to Self-Manage Time and to Prioritize Projects is Essential
  • Background in Criminal Justice, Credit Reporting and Education Background Screening Helpful
  • Excellent Communication Skills & Phone Etiquette
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required
  • Minimum 2+ Years in a Professional Environment, Prior Customer Service Experience Preferred
  • Must be Highly Organized and Reliable
  • Must have Ability to Achieve Assigned Objectives in a Timely Manner
  • Must have Ability to Work Well with Other Team Members and Adapt to New or Changing Job Responsibilities
  • Must be Energetic and Highly Motivated Professional and Team Player.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Familiar with MS Excel
  • Strong Attention to Detail and a High Sense of Urgency

Job Description

  • Additional Duties as Assigned
  • Create Customer Orders by Entering Them into System on Customer’s Behalf
  • Conduct Background Screening Service Orders via Phone, Email, Web
  • Ensure Proper Protocol and Procedures are Followed in Order to Conduct Requested Services
  • Field Customer Inquiries and Forward to Appropriate Area for Resolution
  • Provide Customer Reports via Phone, Email, Web when Scheduled or Requested by the Customer

 

Key Relationships

This role reports to the Director of Background Operations and interacts frequently with other members of Background Team and Operational functions.

Sales Associate

We are seeking a entry level professional to serve as a CSS Sales Associate. This role is responsible for generating new business opportunities by strategically prospecting, networking, and building strong customer relationships in an assigned territory while executing on an aggressive B2B sales plan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a B2B outside sales role, preferably selling intangible services
  • Background or Drug screening services industry experience a plus
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business and generating sales leads within a territory
  • Previous sales training a plus, but not required (Integrity, SPI, Carnegie, Heiman, etc.)
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with a consultative selling approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products primarily Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in entering, maintaining and analyzing data in CRM platforms with preference to Salesforce
  • Willing to travel within an assigned territory and nationally as required
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive customer and subject information
  • Strong dedication to time management principles and able to prioritize
  • High energy with a strong will to hear “no” frequently and focus on winning
  • Professional demeanor, able to present and close to all levels of decision makers include C-Level executives
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening
  • A valid driver’s license

    Core Responsibilities & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Generate and grow new business by successfully executing on an aggressive sales plan
    • Strategically leverage company, industry and sales trends to enhance prospecting efforts
    • Create and maintain a detailed prospecting plan to uncover potential customers and opportunities
    • Enter and maintain all relevant account and opportunity data in Salesforce.com platform
    • Accurately provide monthly and quarterly incoming revenue forecasts based on customer contract date and launch
    • Successfully on board new business by coordinating internal resources and guiding the customer through the whole process from signature, integration, to launch
    • Become a subject matter expert in our industry though CSS resources, training, workshops and other external education sources
    • Create meaningful proposals and quotes that address and resolve prospect pain points
    • Regularly provide data to the executive team on any changes to the competitive environment including trends, pricing, product offerings, and other observable advantages
    • Negotiating agreement terms, pricing within guidelines, and closing sales

     

    Non Core Responsibilities

    • Partner with marketing to represent CSS at tradeshows, events, and other demonstrations
    • Attend weekly team meetings to present successes, challenges, best practices, and ideas for product or service improvement
    • Support the customer relationship team with customer support as needed
    • Collaborate with Sales Operations team to develop sales efficiency improvements
    • Communicate with marketing department on current market conditions, trends, and customer need changes that will help in developing situationally relevant impactful marketing campaigns
